Lymphedema Treatment

  • Lymphedema refers to swelling that usually occurs in the arms, legs, or sometimes both. This is most commonly due to the removal or damage of lymph nodes that may have caused lymphatic system blockage. There really is no cure for lymphedema, but there are treatments that can reduce the swelling and control the pain. This can include: exercises, wraps, massages, compression, and complete decongestive therapy (CDT).

  • Lymphedema Treatment can be used for patients who have undergone some cancer treatments, such as radiation or removal surgery after breast cancer.
